Offering a solution focused approach to manage the triggers to anger in more positive ways.
Anger management specialist.
Paul Allenby offers professional,
friendly and practical anger management counselling that effectively helps his clients develop awareness of their anger triggers and take full responsibility for them.
Rather than just talk about what triggers negative responses … we will work together to develop practical skills so you can step back from your triggers rather than being automatically reactive to them.
The therapy provided is solution focused in the here and now without needlessly dwelling on the past.
It’s not anger that needs managing … it’s what triggers anger is what we work on!
Paul often says to his clients that anger is what you might do but it’s not what the problem is - it’s the triggers. These may include:
This is just a selection of the more common triggers. Whatever triggers a negative response from you, we will work together to create effective solutions to be in much better control.
Paul Allenby is an experienced therapist with 23+ years experience.
Paul has been providing private anger management counselling since 1999 and has helped over 2500 private clients during this time.
The feedback Paul constantly receives is that his clients appreciate the practical approach of developing practical skills rather than talking about feelings and emotions or dwelling on the past.
Paul is not a general therapist offering a counselling therapy for every type of problem people experience.
Paul has specialised in two main areas of therapy - anger management therapy and marriage and relationship counselling.

A tried and tested approach - how we will work together to create change.
In your first session Paul is going to listen to you intently to discover the challenges you are facing with anger management and what you hope to achieve from our therapy together.
Paul guarantees you that even from this very first session you will already start the process of awareness and what you can do about your responses in anger triggering moments.
In this very first session we will collaboratively work together to create a plan for change - here you will get a full understanding of what it means to create an effective toolbox of skills for change
Focusing on the hear and now without needlessly dwelling on the past.
It’s understandable when people start therapy that they want to see change as quickly as possible and you can be sure that we will hit the road running right from your very first session.
While it’s important to get some background of your past, we will only do this to identify how certain events or ongoing communication styles affect the present.
Trust Paul when he says that talking about the past keeps you stuck in the past - focus on the present and the future and the eyes widen and the willingness to take responsibility for your actions increases.
In our first few sessions we will move quickly to establish much improved awareness of your triggers and work on strategies and coping mechanisms to be in much better control
A collaboration for change.
Paul describes his approach to anger management therapy as a collaboration of two people working together intent on creating change - he provides therapy with a friendly, welcoming and professional approach and will work with you tirelessly to get the best out of you to facilitate change.
No matter what triggers your anger you can be sure that we will do more than just talk about it … we will together to do something about it.
Whatever your experiences are with anger and the triggers you experience, our work together will help you:
When we have these in place we can safely say that we have been successful in helping you develop effective skills to help you manage your reactions to anger triggers in the most positive ways.
Developing lifetime skills
When you experience traditional talking therapy that’s what you do … talk about your anger!
Each session ends up talking about why you get angry and often focuses on feelings and dwells on the past.
Your therapy sessions with Paul are going to help you develop lifetime skills - not just for the duration of your therapy session.
You literally learn to become your own therapist and along with our online mindfulness course you will constantly have a resource to refer back to.
Our therapy together doesn’t just talk about the reasons why you get angry … you will be helped to do something about it.
